Aw thanks for saying I'm a cool person! I try not to be too crazy and honest. I feel so happy now. :D

Hmm, favorite history class? Tough one...I think the class that impacted me the most was Africa 1800 to Present that I took in junior year but I think I honestly really loved every class I took on Europe and I think maybe my favorite of all time were the two courses I took on the Crusades, one of which was my senior seminar.

Hmmm, I never took African history and all my European was modern.

Honestly, modern African history blew my mind - learning about the different places in Africa and how they dealt with colonialism and the aftermath of being forced into nation-states was incredible. A good book to read on it (although it's a novel) is The Poisonwood Bible - it's about a missionary family in the Congo when it got it's independence and it's mind-blowingly amazing.

Also, what kind of modern European history did you take? Was it WW2 and Communism or the 1800s type stuff?

I took everything from French Rev and Modern Britain from 1870 to more WWII than I know what to do with. WWI was a great class.

Thanks for the book rec, my sister read that, but I never heard what it was about.

The book is so incredible. What kind of Modern Britain did you take - I tried taking a Victorian Britain class when I studied in the UK and the professor was boring as shit. I also took a shit load of French Revolution and France/Germany in the 1800s classes. I've read more Marx than I ever needed too.

Through the 1970-80s, about a century. French Rev was all I needed, no Napoleonic for me.

Hey!

1. You friended me and were friends with Kelly, which meant Adam!
2. Other than the aforementioned, Roll Tide!
3. You have some of the best icons ever, and are a fellow sane Southerner.
4. Nothing specific, just general Adam discussion.
5. Did you go to college and if so where?
6. So many to choose from, but I think I like the default best.

I went to a local college for my bachelor's and Alabama for my Masters degree.

The purple corset one? I love that one, too. I like to do a non-fandom icon as a default one since my fandoms often change.

Cool, yeah, DNW fandom default. Plus I love the Pillsbury icon.
