Last night I went to a show I've been awaiting since September. Hurricane Ivan's appearance in Tally delayed the TJ Maxx Tour of Gymnastics Champions from coming to town. However, it was worth the wait. The event included several Olympians, including five of the women and several of the men. A rhythmic gymnast, trampolinist, two specialists, and a pairs team performed. The uneven bars routines to start the night set to "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera were great as were the parallel bars routines. There was no vault and the rings routines, despite having guys on four sets at once weren't all that great. My favorite guys set of the night was the aerial gymnast working with a several foot long silk suspended from the ceiling. Two of the men's team joined him on silks on the side of the arena. The floor stuff was bleh, two dancing portions and a set of tumbling passes. However, the balance beam work, on four beams set up in a square was cool, it looked like continuous flips as the girls changed beams. My main wish was that they would have had regular lighting as opposed to spot lighting so that the gymnasts would have been more distinguishable. Overall, it was a good night and a nice break from my academic drudgery.

Ok, now to the weekend of the Florida game. Man was it long and complicated. Bryan came down because I'd gotten him a student ticket for his Christmas gift. All was fine as we went shopping Friday afternoon, he got Rainee a shirt, I got nothing. We went to the diner for dinner and then just chilled in my room, talking until 3am about everything under the sun, including true crime. However, we did make a bad fake ID. Damn I wish I'd had one that would copy and paste better. So, anyway, we slept until 1pm on game day, then chilled after lunch until game time.

We get to the stadium and go to my usual gate which I figured would be safe because it was so busy that I didn't think they'd check IDs closely. I was wrong. Next thing I know, Bryan is talking to an FSUPD guy. They leave and I follow as I'm going to my seat, but get caught by the band and lose them. So, without know what is going to happen, I go watch the game, thinking maybe he'll be fined.

The game is yucky from the start as UF scores first. We manage to make it 10-3 by half, but Cismesia misses a field goal that would've made it 10-6 and taken pressure of Wyatt who isn't playing well. The second half is no better, mid way through the third Rix comes in to get us a touchdown, but another missed field goal costs us, even though Beitia came in to make a 52-yarder. This was not the way I wanted my undergraduate career to end, with our first loss to Florida at the Doak since 1986. I cried twice in the fourth quarter as the fact that this was my last football game really hit me. I just hope when win our bowl game.

Ok, so I leave the stadium after the Florida game having no idea where Bryan is and go back to my dorm. When I arrive, I find four messages on my cell phone from him saying to call me ASAP because he has to leave campus by midnight. Well, it was after midnight when I got the messages. I called him, but he didn't answer, so I walk over to the office of my dorm thinking he might be there. He wasn't so I call again after looking near the frat house I thought he meant he was at, but no luck. By this time, I'm getting panicky, so I walk to the parking garage to see if his car is still there. It was. I finally get a hold of him as I'm exiting the garage.

I hurry back to the ouside of my building and there he sits, but he wasn't there when I came back from the game, that I know. So, I find out from him that he has to get his stuff and leave and isn't allowed on campus ever again. The police are supposed to get in touch with him, and may want to talk to me. Yikes! I walk him to the parking garage and say good bye, telling him to call me when he gets in, I don't care what time it is. As I'm walking out of the parking garage in tears, I call my dad despite it being 1am. I brief him on the catastrophe and tell him I'll give him more details in the morning.

I came back to the dorm andd cried for a long time. I wondered what would happen and should I have even gotten him that ticket. I tried to tell myself everything would be okay, thinking that it would be hard for the FSUPD to keep their threat of never letting him back on campus. It would be hard because it's not an enclosed space like a bar or club. Anyway, it's been over ten days with nobody contacting Bryan or me about anything, so I'm a little more relaxed. However, I may still get the police report, if there is one, just to see what exactly happened.

My life has been crazy of late. I got an A on my Sports in America paper and have no clue what I got on my Holocaust paper, the two of which I wrote in a week's time (including Thanksgiving). Then, I had a thirteen question/three page take home test for speech, including some cultural opinion questions because my teacher is Egyptian. Finally, this Monday I had a journal of lectures and movies due for my Holocaust class. Oy that's been a lot of writing, and a long end to the semester. And I still have an exam on Friday, damn the registar to hell. Plus, I have to make sure my grad check was done and register for graduation. On top of all this, the FSUPD called this morning about the fake ID incident. They are referring me to the Dean of Students who could give me a fine and/or community service and possibly probation of some sort, geez. I won't know anymore about that until Spring semester though, and I'm hoping the fact that I'll graduate in April will work in my favor. I can't wait for break despite the fact that our ski vacation got nixed to to Em starting college. Break's gonna be loooong.
