Ok, so, Miami game on Monday. First off, why must the schedule makers keep doing this? Miami game on Labor Day is good for tv, bad for my nerves. Too much pressure to deal with tickets the first week of class. Anyway, Monday began at noon with Sara still sick and without a ticket and me fine and with a ticket. We got lunch and t-shirts from Garnet and Gold before returning to put on game clothes. I wore my jersey, capris and flip flops, stylish, but painful. Got to the stadium about 5:15 for an 8:00 kickoff because the gates open at six and student seating is now general admission, fuck you athletic department. I got a decent seat and chilled until seven when I went and applied face paint. This is as close as yours truly gets to makeup on game day. Not long after, everyone stood up and we'd remain that way the rest of the game.

As for the game itself, it was good, but I want to kill our wide receiving corps, secondary, and their coaches. Dropped passes and blown zone coverage cost us the game way more than the missed extra point, which just pissed off the fans. Anyway, Miami scored first, but then it was tied at 7, we went up 10-7, but Miami was up 14-10 at half. We got it to 23-14, but that missed extra point allowed Miami to take a 24-23 lead, which we made 31-24, and they tied again. Then, they got a long pass to set up a two-yard score leaving us 47 seconds for a touchdown. FSU clock management sucks, so we got to the 2 with a first down and 24 seconds, but three tries to the same receiver failed. WTF at the play calling, but they didn't ask the students/fans. Anyway, we gave away a game we should've won and now must win out to get to the ACC title game.

My experience at the game was interesting. I hate being packed in like sardines unless I'm on an end, which I wasn't, so I couldn't set down, because climbing up on bleacher seats in flip flops by myself is a no go. This resulted in me standing for four freaking hours because two student fights negated half time and the early third quarter. Not surprised they happened though, but I am sorry I don't know the details. As for my other bitch for the game, I know the game is on tv and I know 83,000 fans doing the War Chant sounds glorious, but too much of a good thing never ends well. Between that, the Garnet and Gold chant, the fight song, "Fuck Miami", and screaming while on defense, my voice was shot. First game in a long while, and totally worth it, but "More Noise" graphics, totally unnecessary. Additionally, Sara never got a ticket and Rachel showed up way late, so I watched the game alone. The made me doubly pissed at my dad when I wanted to vent and he wanted to reason. Some days, I can take reasoning after a game, but not rivalry games. Met Sara for dinner and then called it a day. Drinking with the enemy after they won on your field? Not my idea of fun.
